The truth within THE TRUTH

David's travels

We where asked to find some quiet time and sit with The Lord and ask what questions would God want us to ask Him? Then ask Him those questions and wait on a reply.

As I sat with The Lord a few questions came to mind right away that I wanted to ask Him but then He asked me a few questions that were tuff to answer that got me thinking but then He told me to ask Him this question: Lord who is right? In terms of Christianity? We have such an array of different views and beliefs of things Christians should stand on and hold firm to or tolerate or not tolerate what’s right or wrong. That it can become so messy at times that you begin to ponder can it all be right? Who’s to say someone is more right than the other? My views are more Christ like then yours?

As I sat their God gave me this answer: I have never changed. I am the same yesterday today and forever more. What does My Word say?... I know right? Christianity is worldwide, and I’ve met followers of Christ all across the globe some of the most amazing people I have ever met who Love God dearly and I am so thankful for that but why is it that at times we all who love and serve God and read the same bible believe and interpret it differently? I know we are all human and can be on the side of error in our thinking sometimes that’s why Paul reminds Titus to teach what accords with sound doctrine. Pilot once asked Jesus “what is truth?” But never waited around to hear His answer. We all have the opportunity to ask Jesus the same question. So, go ahead ask. I’ll wait… Our views or beliefs should not be based on how we perceive truth to be or what others have told us it to be or what the culture mixed with all kinds of traditions has told us what the truth is which I’m not saying are bad and they all have their place but on what God tells us what truth is. We have His written Word. The very teachings of Jesus. It has stood the test of time and has overcome all sorts of attacks of the enemy against it. It’s the most unique book ever written. The words inside of it has changed countless of lives and continues to do so. It’s been translated into over 600 languages. The new testament alone into over 1500 and yet remains true to its core That Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life and there is no other way to The Father except through Him. Such profound and powerful words. Paul says in Romans For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.

Do we believe that what God says is true? Just sit and mull that over a little bit. How great of a value do we place on Gods word? Obedience is a choice, but truth is not. Whether we choose to believe or not believe certain things about God and His word the Truth about Him and what He says doesn’t change. For His character doesn’t change that’s why we have such great confidence and Hope that God is able to do what He says He will do and that His love for us is unconditional and never fails. His Truth remains absolute it’s a measuring stick for all things but our beliefs, thoughts and perceptions can be deceitful at times that’s why it’s so important to bring it before God and his word. That’s why Paul uses such strong language in 2nd Corinthians when he says: We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. Do are thoughts obey Christ? And everything He stands for? He is the foundation we build our entire faith on. To know God is to know truth. He is the author and finisher of our faith it begins and ends with Him. Knowledge of God brings growth to all Christians no matter who you are or where your from because the more we know Christ the more we know who we are in Him. The Truth sets us free.

So if your like me and seek to know The Truth I encourage to pick up the bible and ask God the difficult questions. Be honest with yourself and Him and see what His word has to say. Seek and you shall find…

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God[a] may be complete, equipped for every good work.
